My studio consultation with Wylie Garcia was beyond helpful. As a working artist I often struggle with providing a balanced structure around my practice that keeps me both accountable to my work and creatively stimulated. Meeting with Wylie and talking through my current aspirations, uncertainties, and works in progress felt like finally finding the missing piece needed to unblock my work flow.  Wylie helped me articulate the thoughts I had been trying to express and connect the dots with several issues I was working through. I feel like our 45 minute consultation gave me the confidence, clarity, and morale for several months of productivity. What a gift! - Happy Subscriber and Client

About Wylie:

I am an artist, community connector, and artist consultant. I paint almost full time from my home studio, while also running a part time consulting gig working with artists on project proposals and career goals. My own work has been supported by numerous grants, fellowships, and artist residencies from organizations such as The Pollok-Krasner Foundation, The Sustainable Arts Foundation, St. Botolph Foundation, The Vermont Arts Council, Burlington City Arts, The Vermont Studio Center, Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. I am a faculty member of the Artist Lab Project, a professional artist development series in collaboration with Kasini House. I have over 10 years of experience working for art non-profit organizations with a background in education and program planning. I have been a guest lecturer at the University of Maine, University of Vermont and the University of Colorado. I have also been a guest juror, curator and consultant for numerous organizations and grant panels.

As professional artist, I am constantly looking for new and creative ways to get my art out into the world as well as find monetary support for my proposals and projects. As a community connector, I feel a responsibility to share many of the resources I come across with other artists and to offer advise on best practices for building a successful career. As you may know, there are so many options out there, and often it’s hard to know where to start; this news letter is a way to streamline sharing those resources. Wylie’s Artist Resource is curated a selection of listings that will offer a wide opportunity for a variety of artist media and fields.
